The first setting was set in place at the Admiral Benbow Inn. This is where the action really began with the introduction of a few main characters and what issues they have with each other and leading to the discovery of treasure. From there on the setting moved on ship and to an island.

Setting is the time, place and condition in which the stories action takes place. Typically the setting plays the role of moving the characters along on their journey or task. The setting makes the book seem more elaborate with its description making each scene even better. Setting sets the mood and tone of the scenes to make the setting seem more realistic. For Treasure Island the setting seems to be in a place where the beach is and cliffs then to where the characters end up on a boat traveling. As well as taking place in old taverns and bars that are wooden and seem old.
“The shores of North Inlet were as thickly wooded as those of the southern anchorage, but the space was longer and narrower, and more like, what in truth it was, the estuary of a river. ” (Treasure Island, pg 336). |
